Software995 Inc. announced that Meet In Common is now available on iPhone and Android through the App Store and Google Play.
Meet In Common is built around a common-ground-first approach to meeting people. Instead of beginning with strangers and hoping they discover a connection, a person can begin with a current topic, story, event, activity, or local question that already matters to them, then find others who chose it too.
The mobile apps bring Meet In Common's location-aware city guides into a focused native experience. A city guide can combine current conversations, civic and major events, university reporting, books, podcasts, entertainment, activity partners, and nearby Roundtables without requiring a separate Meet In Common account for browsing.
Meet In Common also supports stories from Common Quandary, a Software995 publication focused on current ethical questions and subjects with more than one reasonable way to see them. Supported stories can connect readers to attributed source reporting, reader polls, public comments, and small local Roundtables rather than ending with a passive article link.
Homes in Common, currently a beta feature in supported cities, adds a local-knowledge layer to real-estate discovery. People can browse homes for sale, answer the same five local-knowledge questions for a property, compare informal community responses, and read or add public comments based on firsthand observations. The experience asks participants to avoid rumors, personal information, and speculation about residents.
The apps also make it easier to move from discovery into participation. People can explore local civic events, campus stories, and recurring activity-partner opportunities for pickleball, tennis, hiking, and biking before deciding whether to continue through ThinkMatch.
Meet In Common and ThinkMatch have complementary roles. Meet In Common helps someone discover a reason to connect; ThinkMatch handles joining or creating a Roundtable, private questions, matching, scheduling, and participant communication. A person can browse first and sign in through ThinkMatch only when an action requires an account.
Meet In Common is free to use, does not contain advertising, and makes location access optional. Its web experience remains available at meetincommon.com alongside the new iPhone and Android apps.
"Meet In Common gives people a reason to connect before asking them to meet," said Scott Rothstein, Architect at Software995 Inc. "The mobile apps make it easier to begin with something local and meaningful—an ethical question, a campus story, a home, an event, or an activity—and carry that shared interest toward a real conversation."
